IDPA Menu | BUG Sidematches There
will usually be a BUG sidematch following every IDPA match. It
will generally be an adaptation of one or more of the main match
stages.
PHILOSOPHY and GUIDELINES:
- The BUG sidematches exist to provide participants with an opportunity to shoot the gun they may actually carry.
- Following
this philosophy, matches will allow the use of any safe means of
carrying the gun in a concealed manner. This includes belt
holster, (with concealment garb), pocket carry, or other means of
concealed carry that maintains the muzzle in a safe direction.
- If the participant is not able to utilize some means of concealed carry, they will be permitted to shoot from Low Ready.
- Your
Match Director envisions that participants will use the BUG Sidematches
an an opportunity to hone their skills in the use of their actual carry
gun and in their actual carry method provided it is safe in the
match environment.
- Round count will usually be 15 rounds, although occasionally may be up to 30 rounds.
- Reloads
on the clock may occasionally be specified, even though IDPA rules
frown upon this. Your Match Director believes occasional reloads
to be a beneficial opportunity for the participants.
